Last month, we wrote a blog post on 7 tips to save fuel this summer and we briefly touched on how to keep your car cool during summer. Now, we’ve come up with a dedicated post on some tips and items to help you keep your car cool during these hot months of the year.

Don’t you hate it when you get back into the car after it’s been out in the sun for a couple of hours and the steering wheel is burning hot? You can’t even drive without burning your hands! Well, luckily, there are more than one way to counteract this!

1. Get your steering wheel a shade

It’s small, compact and easy to put over your steering wheel before you get out of the car. Cool grip wheel covers protect your steering wheel from the suns rays and keeps it cool to touch.

2. Sunshades

Have a sunshade handy in your car and when you park, just put it up on your windscreen.
You can get several different types from Motoquipe, according to your needs and you’re killing two birds with one stone. You keep your steering wheel cool to touch and you keep your entire car relatively cool so there’s no need to blast the aircon or wait ten minutes before you’re ready to drive to your next destination. In saying that, however, your car will still be warm inside, but it’ll definitely not be as hot as it would be without the sunshade.

3. Interior sun shades

Even when you’re driving with the aircon on or the windows down, the sun rays beaming down onto your skin is still hot and potentially dangerous to young children. Put up some interior sun shades to counteract some of those harmful rays while still allowing light to filter through. They’re easy to store and are spring loaded for easy application.

4. Window Sox

Get yourself a Window Sox which allows vehicles with door frame windows to be opened or closed for shade, fresh air flow and insect protection whether driving or parked. It blocks 80% of harmful UV light and fits over rear passenger door frame and allows windows to be open whilst still providing UV and insect protection.

5. Water resistant Car Covers

You can keep your car in tip top condition, protect it from the birds, the sun and the heat with a car cover. Just choose one that fits your car and when you want to keep it from the elements, throw it on top of your car.
